The total crypto market capitalization fell 2.13% in 24 hours to $2.74 trillion, with trading volume hitting $61.45 billion. Bitcoin's dominance ticked up to 59.5% of the total market, suggesting traders rotated out of riskier altcoins even as the flagship coin itself stayed flat-to-positive. Ethereum's share of the market sat at 10.49%, underscoring how concentrated the current pullback is outside the top asset.
The trending charts told a different story than the broader sell-off. Initia (INIT), ranked 506th by market cap, rocketed 19.1% to $0.214, by far the sharpest move among coins drawing search interest. Quantus (QTC) also stood out, up 8.16% to nearly $80, while Kinetiq (KNTQ) gained 6.38% to $0.446. On the other end, Axis Robotics (AXIS) cratered 33.17% to $0.172, marking one of the steepest single-day drops tracked across trending tickers. Ethena (ENA) also slid, down roughly 3.2% to 4.5% depending on the dataset, landing near $0.198-$0.200.
Among coins ranked by overall market cap, Bitway (BTW) posted the day's biggest gain, up 13.07% to $1.72. Pepe (PEPE) followed with a 9.93% jump to $0.00000489, while MemeCore (M) rose 5.59% to $1.11. LEO Token and Litecoin rounded out the top five gainers, adding 4.05% and 3.50% respectively, with Litecoin changing hands at $58.53.
On the losing side, Ethena led declines among major-cap tokens, down 4.47% to $0.198, extending a rough stretch for the synthetic dollar protocol's token. Quant (QNT) fell 2.22% to $193.82, and Bitcoin Cash dropped 1.93% to $285.32, a pullback that contrasts with its presence on the trending list, where it initially showed a smaller 1.55% dip. BlackRock's tokenized liquidity fund (BUIDL) was unchanged at its pegged $1.00, as expected for the stablecoin-like product.
Elsewhere in trending activity, Solana added 1.28% to trade at $101.93, Dogecoin gained 1.92% to $0.0795, and Chainlink rose 1.38% to $11.60 — all modest gains that stood in contrast to the market's overall red print. Pudgy Penguins (PENGU) inched up 1.3% to $0.00777. The divergence between a handful of small-cap breakouts and losses among mid-tier names like Ethena and Bitcoin Cash highlights a market where capital is moving selectively rather than broadly, even as the total market cap contracted for the session.
